Did you know?: Granite is considered by many to be the most technical peak in the lower 48. It requires some rock climbing so be prepared mentally and physically before considering this highpoint. Granite Peak is also a very remote mountain and was the last peak to be climbed of all the 50 high points. The mountain can have extreme weather and it often takes multiple attempts to make it to the summit. For this reason it is a good idea to have one or two “bad weather” days built in to the itinerary.
